    These are surprisingly useful as intercoms. I wasn’t sure how much I’d like an ‘intercom’ feature while skiing/boarding out west. In hindsight, I should have seen how valuable these are when you’re outside with a group. For example, if someone wants go in the trees, or take a parallel run, you can keep in touch easily. “Look out for this rock” is a fair warning. We ski with little kids, and we used to have to stop at every trail intersection to make sure they don’t get lost or go the wrong way, but now we can just go. Its much easier to ‘adapt’ — for example, if there’s a long line at a chair lift, we can decide on the fly to go somewhere else.
